Human Rights and Nutrition for Children

چکیده :

Unfortunately, many children today lack access to proper nutrition, especially vulnerable groups like younger children and those living in poverty or affected by humanitarian crises. In developing countries, many suffer from malnutrition due to families' inability to provide diverse meals. Malnutrition leads to significant health issues and impacts millions globally. Consequently, these children miss out on vital nutrients that are essential for their development, exposing them to serious health issues. This review focuses on the Rights and Nutrition for Children. Methods: For this narrative review, scientific articles were considered from various databases (e.g Science Direct, Pub Med and Google Scholar) using the keywords Children, nutrition, human rights . Results: Children's rights regarding nutrition are integral to the broader right to adequate food, as recognized in international human rights law. The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) affirms that every child has the right to healthy food and adequate nutrition. Under international law, everyone has the right not to be malnourished, as delineated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other agreements. National governments are primarily responsible for upholding these rights, and embedding them in national law demonstrates a commitment to their realization. Conclusion: While national legislation is crucial for advancing nutrition rights, it should be part of a comprehensive strategy, alongside feeding programs, healthcare, education, and sanitation initiatives, to combat malnutrition.
