چکیده :
Minority Children are children under the age of 18 belonging to ethnic, religious or linguistic and national minorities. The protection of minority children against intersectional and multiple discrimination is a critical issue in the field of human rights. Children, inherently vulnerable, require heightened protection due to their dependence on others for survival and development. Children belonging to minority groups, children with disabilities, or those with migration backgrounds often experience discrimination shaped by overlapping aspects of their identities. This phenomenon, known as intersectional discrimination, intensifies their marginalization and restricts access to essential rights such as education, healthcare, and protection. When these identities are treated in isolation, it is referred to as multiple discrimination, which still fails to capture the compounded impact on children. This paper explores how intersectional and multiple discrimination specifically affect minority children, leading to persistent social, economic, and educational disadvantages. It highlights key challenges such as exclusion from quality education, limited healthcare access, and increased vulnerability to violence and abuse. Drawing on intersectionality theory and international human rights law, particularly the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), this study critically assesses the adequacy of existing legal protections. It argues that current frameworks often overlook the unique vulnerabilities created by intersecting identities. The paper emphasizes the need for inclusive policies and legal reforms that directly address the complexity of these children’s experiences. It concludes with concrete recommendations for policymakers, international organizations, and civil society to adopt intersectional approaches that ensure the rights and dignity of all children are fully respected and protected.
