چکیده :
Background: Cyber victimization is a significant challenge in the digital age, with profound psychological and social consequences for children and adolescents. However, the extent to which victims acknowledge and report cyber victimization is influenced by various factors, including cultural norms, social structures, and criminal justice support systems. This study examines the impact of gender discrimination culture on the acceptance or denial of cyber victimization among children and adolescents, analyzing how gender norms shape victims' perceptions of cyber violence and their access to criminal justice protection. Methods: This study employs a library-based and analytical approach. Data were collected through a systematic review of scientific articles, international reports, and legal documents related to cyber victimization, gender discrimination, social psychology, and criminal justice protection. A qualitative content analysis method was used to examine the relationship between these variables. Findings: The findings indicate that gender norms significantly influence how cyber victimization is experienced and reported. In cultures with pronounced gender discrimination, girls are more likely to face victim-blaming, leading to reluctance in disclosing their victimization. Conversely, boys may downplay or deny their experiences due to masculine stereotypes and social pressure to appear strong. These factors contribute to underreporting and prevent victims from accessing psychological, legal, and criminal justice support. Furthermore, cultural variations in the intensity and nature of gender discrimination affect the societal acceptance of cyber victimization. Additionally, in some legal systems, the absence of specific laws addressing gender-based cyber violence limits the effectiveness of criminal justice protections for victims. Conclusion: The findings of this study highlight gender discrimination culture as a key factor in the acceptance or denial of cyber victimization, posing a significant barrier to victim support. In addition to educational and cultural initiatives aimed at reducing gender stereotypes and improving digital literacy, policy reforms in criminal justice systems are essential for preventing cyber victimization and ensuring effective protection for victims. Key measures include enacting comprehensive legislation, strengthening judicial practices, and improving children's and adolescents' access to legal and psychological support. This study underscores the need for an interdisciplinary approach to better understand cyber victimization and develop effective preventive and supportive strategies.
